The Extended Lateral Head Support is specifically engineered for users with limited head control and complex positioning needs, focusing on maximizing stability and containment. The design features a posterior pad with extended suboccipital support to promote correct head positioning even during rotation.
Crucially, the lateral sections extend forwards to contain the head and provide vital support for clients with low muscle tone. A thoughtful ear cut-out detail ensures continuous comfort across different resting positions.
Spex pads are constructed for superior comfort and pressure management, using an internal aluminum shell for rigidity, encased in injection-moulded foam, and topped with a soft memory foam overlay to reduce pressure, even for those with high tone patterns. This biomechanically designed shape works seamlessly with Spex Stylo hardware to accommodate a wide range of requirements.
This support is available in Paediatric and Adult sizes, with a Standard Lateral version also offered (4 cm shorter in lateral extension). (Formerly the Comfi Standard/Extended Head Support).
